Michael Bernstein is not a blogger I subscribe to and I've been so busy lately that I have not been diligently following the chatter on Twitter.

That being said, although I do not personally know Vanessa, I've covered many tournaments that she's played in and have seen how she interacts with her friends and colleagues. She is a woman I greatly admire and I think she is an exceptional poker player regardless of gender.

Since I do not want to encourage slanderous blogging, it is unlikely that I will include myself as an analytical statistic by visiting Mr. Bernstein's blog.

In the arena of blogging, traffic and amplification are all measurements of industry clout, so unless and/or until I get a PDF copy or an untraceable link emailed to me (hint, hint) I will be unable to opine further.

Nah, I have a desktop at my office, but I've got a ton of stuff to do here at home.

That was the "family" laptop. The data is fine, just the liquid crystals got messed up and I know better than to put work product on a computer that 3 kids have access to.

I'll back up the data to a cloud after I grab a monitor from my office tomorrow. The only valuable data are family pics and about 60GB of music.

I hope online poker survives but if it doesn't...

Crisis can bring out the best and worst of people.

But the poker community had serious trouble being unified even prior to Black Friday. Think back to the controversy re the Frank and Reid legalization bills. Unity is a great goal in theory, but pragmatically, it's rather difficult to achieve.

Most of us live players started building our BR at the $1/2 cash games. Tourney players used to have a bad stigma attached to them. They were the butt of all of the cash players' jokes. The Moneymaker affect changed all that, and with on-line ROI and the Savage tournament structure, there was a complete turnaround.

Others are reporting FTP success too. Good luck! I hope FTP doesn't shut down. I have a lot of friends who depend on making their living by writing about what goes on in the DotCom industry.

I write with a cynical style sometimes because it is easier for most people to relate to as opposed to Happy-Happy-Joy-Joy fairytale kinda stuff.
